This is the last Friday of Q1. Next week the work changes.
For thirteen weeks, the principles arrived as concepts. Each one named, defined, examined. The Friday newsletter has been an introduction. Most men join a system at the introduction stage and stay there. The introduction is the easy part. The application is the part that decides whether anything happens.
Q2 is the application quarter. Same eight principles. Different question. Q1 asked, what is each principle? Q2 asks, what does living each principle look like, on a Tuesday morning, when nobody is watching?
The men who finish 2026 looking nothing like the men who started are the men who make the transition next week.
WEALTH
The Q1 wealth principle was awareness. Looking at the numbers. Naming what is true. Setting up the architecture. By the end of this quarter, the man who did the work knows where his money is, where it goes, and where the leaks are.
Q2 wealth is harder. The architecture meets the friction. A purchase you want to make and the savings rule says no. An income opportunity that requires a hard decision. A bill bigger than expected, testing whether the emergency fund is real or theoretical.
write down the one financial decision you can already see coming in April. The one you know is going to test the architecture. Not all of them. The first one.
Write what you will do when it arrives. The decision made now is the decision you will use then. You are pre-paying the difficult moment while the test is theoretical and the answer is easy.
POWER
The Q1 power principle was naming. Naming the standards. The no's. The cage. The work was diagnostic. By the end of this quarter, the man who did the work has a clearer map of his life than he started with.
Q2 power requires enforcement. The map is the map. The terrain pushes back. The first time a Q1 standard meets a Q2 reality, the version of you that wants to renegotiate arrives on schedule.
The standard you set in Q1 is meaningless until you hold it under pressure once. Until then, it is a rule on paper. Holding it under pressure once converts it into a thing you do.
Tuesday, identify the standard most likely to be tested in early April. Decide today what you will do when it shows up. Specific. What words you will use. What action you will take. The decision you make this Saturday runs the meeting in April.
SUCCESS
The shift between Q1 and Q2 is the shift between learning and living. Most men get good at learning and never make the second move. They start a new system in January, learn it through March, and take the rest of the year off because they confused understanding the system with running it.
You have understood the system. The understanding does not produce the life. The running produces the life.
Tomorrow, write three things on paper. One: the principle you ran for the past two weeks. Two: the principle you will run for the first two weeks of April. Three: the Tuesday-morning move the April principle requires, and the date you will make it on.
Three sentences. The transition is in them. Q1 is on the first. Q2 starts on the third.
By July, you look back at this Friday as the day the year stopped being a plan and became a life. Or you look back at it as the day you read another newsletter and went back to your normal Friday. The difference is the three sentences.
What is the one Q2 principle you are running starting Monday, and what Tuesday-morning move does it require?
